Save Today to Improve Ann Arbor Parks Tomorrow
Ann Arbor’s parks are central to our quality of life. We need to make sure that they are maintained, preserved, and improved for our children and grandchildren. Ann Arbor acquired and built many of our parks in the 1950s and 1960s. This means that many of the buildings and much of the infrastructure associated with these parks are nearing the end of its useful life. If we don’t take careful, thoughtful action today, our parks system will not serve the needs of future generations of Ann Arborites.
We need to commit to a comprehensive parks system sustainability plan -- a plan that makes financial and operational sense. The Parks Advisory Commission will provide important direction over the next few months and we need to make sure that we listen. If we don’t take this important step today, Ann Arbor parks will suffer tomorrow.
